The bite continues...

Cover water...we have caught fish in 10-30 feet of water. Seems like it really can change from day to day. We are trolling cranks and or bottom bouncers with spinners. Plastics, crawlers, leeches, and minnows are all working. Cranks have also done well trolled between 2-3 mph.
We have caught some monster pike of late, jumbo perch, and white bass. It's fun when you catch the variety pack out there.
Summer is starting to slide so make sure to get out and enjoy the excellent fishing that the Devils Lake basin is providing!!

It's all about the pocket!

The old saying "90 percent of the fish are in 10 percent of the water" is certainly holding true right now on Devils Lake.
Pockets can change from day to day so it's important to cover water.
Without a doubt pulling spinners has been our best method to put fish in the box. Best depths are 7-15 ft of water. Crawlers, leeches, and plastics on spinners are all producing.
Pike fishing is more spotty with the warmer water temps, but most pike are caught mixed in with the walleyes.
Bass have been in shallow along rock shorelines.
Good luck to all! Walleye fishing should continue to stay great and look for fish to keep sliding deeper as summer continues!
