Bridges are producing...

October has been a beautiful month so far in Devils Lake! We have had a bit of wind, but the temps have been great!
Seems like the most consistent bite these days is in or near current areas. We have fished all the bridges on the lake and they have all produced fish. Most days, it is best to fish given early or later in the day.
Best presentations have been vertical jogging with live bait, working jigging raps, or bulling bottom bouncers and spinners. Most days the best bite is in that 18-24 depths. We have also had some success trolling cranks on deeper humps, roads, and the old shoreline.
Days in a boat are going to start getting numbered, so make sure you get out soon if your planning another trip on Devils Lake!!!

A bit up and down...

We have been on a bit of a roller coaster ride this past week on Devils Lake. Weather has been all over and some of the days have been brutally windy.
Fish are still going, just getting consistent nice fall weather is the biggest factor.
We have caught more fish deep than shallow, in fact, most of our fish are coming in 18-30 feet still. Bridges have been good at times and only fair other times. Our nicest fish seem to be in the 7-12 foot range.

As we continue into fall, expect to find some larger fish getting more active. This is usually the best time of year for trophy fish!

Good luck to all!!
